The series of his textbooks in Mathematics and Physics started with "Systematic Course of Arithmetics for Secondary School" published with his own means used in 1884 when A.P. Kiselyov worked as teacher of Maths in Voronezh Technical High School. Outstanding scientists recognized that the textbook proved to be a rare blend scientific exactness and simplicity of narration. Thanks to this features it became so popular that by 1938, when the textbook was recognised to be the principle for secondary schools one, there had been published 1,800,000 copies of its 36 editions. By 1956 when the textbook of another author was introduced instead it, its 3,000,000 copies more had been published. In 1895 "Concise Arithmetics for City High Schools" was published. It had 21 editions of 200,000 copies. In 1898 "Elementary Algebra" in two volumes appeared. It had 40 editions of 7,000,000 copies.

Due to success supplementary parts and modified versions of the textbook started appearing soon. In 1893 "Supplementary Parts of Algebra. VII Grade Course for Technical High Schools" appeared to have 7 editions. In 1896 "Concise Algebra for Female Gymnasia" appeared. It had 16 editions of 65 copies. In 1908 The textbook "Elementary Textbook on the Derivative" was published. Its second edition had the title "Basics of Differential and Integral Calculus" 7 edition of which were published. In 1913 "Graphic Representation of Some Functions Treated in Elementary Algebra" was published as a supplementary to the textbook "Elementary Algebra". In 1925 "Elements of Algebra and Analysis" was published to lay the foundations of reforming a secondary school course of algebra. In 1928 the textbook "Problems and Excercises in Elements of Algebra" was published. "Elementary Geometry" by A. P. Kiselyov is considered by a lot of mathematicians to be his best textbook. It appeared in 1892 to have 42 editions and to stay the principle secondary school textbook in Geometry till the 1970-s. It was published in the 90-s to be a model of clear elucidation of material for teachers.

In 1902 "Elementary Physics for Secondary Schools with Large Number of Exercises and Problems Included" in two issues was published but appeared to be less successful than his textbooks in Mathematics. There were, however, 13 editions of text book showing the author's broad outlook in the field of Physics. Besides writing textbooks A.P. Kiselyov prepared articles to be published in research journals in methods of teaching mathematics: "Pedagogicheskiy Sbornik" (St. Petersburg), "Vestnik Opytnoy Fiziki i Elementarnoy Matematiki" (Odessa), "Matematicheskoye Obrazovanie" (Moscow).
