The name of A.P. Kiselyov is inscribed not only in the Big Soviet Encyclopaedia and Mathematical Dictionary but in grateful hearts of all those people who learned maths using his textbooks.
On July 4, 2001 Voronezh Education Complex #2 was named after A.P.Kiselyov for the achievements in teaching Science and Mathematics. The teachers of the complex and of Voronezh State University carry out a serious research in teaching Science and Maths to school children.
No wonder, in 2002 the museum dedicated to the life and activity of the outstanding teacher and researcher was founded in Voronezh Education Complex #2.
The work of the museum is aimed
• at providing a “hands on” learning of the history of mathematics, of the country and the world;
• at keeping and continuing the best traditions in the field of teaching Math;
• at leaning to use several text books, comparing their pros and cons and choosing the most suitable, taking different ways to solve problems into consideration;
• at discovering applied aspects of Mathematics connected with the society life and development of Physics, Computer Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology etc;
• at students’ involvement in carrying out research: setting and solving problems, getting acquainted with the development of fundamental science and its practical implementation.
These guidelines make it possible for students to realize the beauty and complexity of Mathematics and to choose career and arrange it creatively.
