In 1876 A.P. Kiselyov, his wife and young son arrived at Voronezh, where Technical High Secondary School was opened. At that time the visitors of the town were impressed by its numerous parks and gardens, straight and broad streets, cleanliness. In the town he and his family lived for 45 years. It was the most active and fruitful period of his life. His dedicated and hard work at Technical High School and Mikhailovskiy Cadet School brought about a great success and the government’s awards: he was awarded the Order of St. Anna of the III degree (1894), St. Stanislav of the II degree (1896), St. Anna of the II degree (1899) and a silver medal commemorating the reign of Alexander III (1896). His social activities won his countrymen’s respect.
In 1898 A.P.Kiselev was elected member of the School Council by the overwhelming majority of Voronezh Duma members. What is more he was elected member of Voronezh Duma for 6 times running. More than that, he was the chairperson of the School Committee of the Duma. His surname is on the list of endowers of money for the foundation of Voronezh Gubernskiy Museum.
In Voronezh four more children were born into his family: Elena (1878), Nadezhda (1880), Boris (1883), Maria (1885). His five children were brought up to become decent and highly educated people. Their life in the parents house was happy and exciting. They mixed with the most respected citizens and their children. Elena Kiselyova remembered her childhood spent in Voronezh with great love and devotion.
